Does every room have a view of Lake Tekapo ?
Yes. Every suite has a private balcony with uninterrupted views of Lake Tekapo and the Southern Alps.
Is there free parking ?
Yes. There is one carpark allocated per guest.
Are any meals included ?
Yes – breakfast is served from 8am-9am
Where did the name Ranginui come from ?
It was the two words for night sky, and in Maori legend the Father creator.
Does it snow in winter ?
Three to Four times per year around the village.
Are we close to walks and hikes ?
The lochinvar path with leads to the Cowans hill walk is beside the house. There is also an excellent book from Tekapo Trails in each room detailing all of the local walks.
How long does it take to walk to the village ?
The village is a 15 minute walk, there is also the ‘scenic route’ across Cowans Hill which is 40 minutes
